If you need assistance in paying your rent, reside or work in a county with an open waiting list, your income falls within allowable limits, and the rental unit you choose to live in meets the NSPIRE inspection and rental limits set forth by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), you may qualify for the program. Proof of residency in the county for which you apply is required upon your name being drawn off the waiting list for assistance.
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority's (MSHDA) Housing Choice Voucher Program will be opening waiting lists in the following counties. The date and time for each list is specified below; those without a closing date and time will remain open. You may not apply to a county’s waiting list before the opening date and time. The application must be completed before the closing date and time.

Note: PBV waiting lists MAY remain open and county residency is not a requirement for PBV waiting lists. You cannot apply online to a project-based voucher waiting list. Only a Lead Agency assigned to the property can determine your initial eligibility for placement on the PBV development waiting list. If you are a homeless Veteran, you may be eligible for the HUD VASH program. Please contact the VA case manager or other VA contact in your area to find out if you qualify.
